JENNIFER - MOTHER & GRANDMA
You will read and hear all about the life that Shawn Marti led. He was so talented, funny, kind and serving to all he came in contact with. He was a loving Son, a wonderful Brother, a Friend to all, and a devoted Husband and Father. I was very priveledged to be his mother and cherish the time we had with him. I was often called Shawn's Mom rather than my own name. I was very proud of that.
"This was a terrible tragedy...but if this could be turned to something good and powerful for the whole community-it would give meaning to Shawn's death."
We believe that we will see him and be with him again. My hope would be that his legacy would be carried on by many people. Mr Hernandez being one of them. I see no use of him sitting in jail the rest of his life. If he could banish drinking from his life and teach his children and community how to be an upstanding citizen and serve others would be much more valuable. I would like to see him go to all the schools in the Treasure Valley to tell his story, and show his arm where his hand was amputated, and talk about the many lives drinking and driving affects. This was a terrible tragedy and we will miss Shawn dearly but if this could be turned into something good and powerful for the whole community-it would give meaning to Shawn's death.
